10/22/06 Elite Four Glitch
Not even a month out, and D/P has already found its Infamous Glitch (tm). We had the Missingno. trick (and Mew trick) in R/B/Y, the cloning trick in G/S/C, the cloning glitch in Emerald...
And now the Elite Four glitch.
The basic idea is that you can Surf out of the first Elite Four member's room by using Surf while facing the door you came in through. Then you're in the black area, and you can basically run around and get to anywhere you want in Shinou, from the looks of it. Then you just go to places like Full Moon Island, where Daakurai appears, or the Flower Patch, where Sheimi appears... Who wants to bet they'll find out how to get Aruseusu with this thing soon?
Now half of the Pokémon community is saying "OMG WOW I CAN GET THEM" and the other half is saying "OMG NO WHY DO THEY ALWAYS HAVE THESE GLITCHES IN THE GAMES?" How typical. Honestly, just ban 00bers from competitive play like you've always been doing and be done with it.
Try watching those video guides linked to in the first post of the thread I linked to above. They're interesting.

Er, these intructions seem very complicated, and if you get one step wrong, you face arriving inside someone/off the map/stuck in an area which you don't have the HM to escape. But that's just what I think.
Jughead Mk 2
But the step counter does make it alot easier.

Too bad this'll be corrected in the American version. *sigh*
MoonlitUmbreon
This is gonna be fun. Unobtainables without a download? Who wouldn't pass that opportunity up?
Mr. Pelipper
More like thank God that it's gonna be corrected in the American version. Picture this:
You- LALALALA! I'm gonna go play Diamond with people on Wi-Fi! I'll use my highly trained team of not-legendaries, because I don't feel like using them right now! LALALALA!
N00b- HAH! I SCHOOLED YOU WITH MY DAAKURAI, SHEIMI, AND AREUSEUS! HAH!
You- I hate you.
Does that sound like fun? No.
I'm glad people can't use those Ubers. Or maybe it's just because I don't like those three pokemon... IDK. But anyways, I hope they take it out ASAP.
Jughead Mk 2
Yeah, but most n00bs wouldn't know a EV if it hit them in the face, and now you can enter a lv. 5 and bring it up to lv. 100 for the battle, most n00bs won't last very long before they die horrible at the hands of a foe with much, much greater stats.

Sweet glitch! I know what you mean Mr. Pelliper. But it is nice for Canada, cause nintendo events don't come here. Yay Us!
Mr. Pelipper
Lol, that's the first time I've ever heard anybody be happy about NOT being near Nintendo Events.
If we were in some alternate universe, and they DIDN'T take it out before it got to America, then I would only use it on occasion when my pokemon were almost dead in the E4, and would surf to the pokemon center/mart.
Iveechan
The only thing I don't like about these glitches is that they'll very likely be cleared up by the time it's translated. I'd actually train a Sheimi too.
Malachite Treecko
If they take it out in the US, I'll just buy the japanese version (time to learn japanese).
But you could always trade for one WiFi anyway.
Negrek (Website)
I'm with the people disappointed that it will be removed for the US release (in all likelihood. I would die laughing, and then rush to the E4 to get the glitch, if it wasn't). I personally think glitches are fun to play around with, and contrary to what some people seem to fear, relatively harmless in terms of the general metagame.
Let's face it, people are going to be sharking themselves unobtainables anyway. I'm going to try to be careful with trading over Wi-Fi for that reason, as I don't want to bring a sharked pokémon into my game; I do plan to participate in any more competitive tournaments that come my way, so I can't have pokémon generated by inexperienced sharkers causing my pak to fail their cheat-sweep. However, I wouldn't have a problem trading for a sharked item to get to Aruseusu's area--the pokémon I'd get as a result would be completely legit. But if the glitch remained, I could get one myself, and I'd have fun doing it.
Also, I really hope they have some sort of settings for Wi-Fi battles to determine what sort of teams you can face. It would be lame to be fighting people with a bunch of Aruseusu, even if they were just n00bs I could beat with my own team anyway. I mean, it would get... boring. And annoying.
The Unown Trainer
This Glitch seems... intresting. I have a feeling it wasn't just stumbled upon.
Come on, exact guides on how to get Sheimi and Darkrai this way are on the forums. A little too suspicious if you ask me...
MoonlitUmbreon
It does seem odd that someone just "found" it. Other glitches *coughMewglitchcough* seem the same way.
Butterfree (Website)
*shrugs* Why not? There are millions of people playing these games. Somebody has got to have been trying weird things like Surfing through doors, and found the possibility there. Then he wandered around, noticed the music and location changing, decided to check the Shinou Map and realized he was on the map, and then presumably ended up seeing if he could get to the underground there since otherwise he appeared to be stuck. Straight up again, and he was in a location... why wouldn't he figure that perhaps you could get to any location in the game that way, including Full Moon Island and Flower Patch? The Mew Trick is much less believable, to be honest.

^Yeah, but with all that precise amount of steps? I don't think it likely. But meh. I love the sound of this anyway! I really like Sheimi, it'd be great to train one. But they'll definitely take it out for the English Version, even if not in the American Version. Still, nice to see there are still a few glitches!
Negrek (Website)
I assume the precise number of steps is due to the Pokétech, which has a convenient feature which will count them for you.
Blazepert
I so hope this isn't going to be corrected in the international...If only the discovery could have waited until the international was out...*sigh*
I just want the event exclusives for the sake of having them, I probably won't battle with em. Besides, I find legendairys too hard to train successfuly..It's near impossible to catch one with the nature you want.
The Unown Trainer
Hmmm... Game Freak hasn't THIS big of a mistake since R/B! Hmmm... What if you walk to a place thhat normally has a patch of grass? Missingno? What will he look like? Someone's got to try that.
MoonlitUmbreon
That would be interesting. And yeah, I only want the unobtainables for bragging rights. For competitive battling, I only use non-00bers.
Dumb Eevee
Yeah, I like Pokedex data. I train my favourites, and none of the legends are my favourites(except maybe Sheimi.) I wonder what they'll find next?
The Unown Trainer
Hmm... Maybe they'll find an event-recived Altering Cave! That would be neat. Or another region with MORE pokemon! Or new Unown forms. (cough period cough) This is where our imaginations come in. WHAT WILL HAPPEN?! *thunderclap*
PichuPi
Two words: How sad...
Nintendo should try the weird things before we do. XD
The Unown Trainer (will I stop posting?!)
Now, I could make use of Darkrai... the rest is pure bragging rights. I have a couple (Yanma and Haunter) pokemon that rely on Getting the foe asleep. Dark types or Normal types with Uproar can beat Yanma, and if Haunter gets hurt, he blows up. Literally. I'll keep a snug spot in my team for Darkrai in case the gitch persists in the american version. KEEP IT IN, GAME FREAK!!!!!!! That is all.
Jirachu
YEEEES! Elite 4 glitch! SHEIMI, YOUR AS GOOD AS MIIIIINE!!! *evil laughter*...when I get D or P, of course. =P
