-The TRUTH-

-Keeping Pikachu happy-

Pikachu has a crush on Clefairy

Go to Vermilion city. Find the pokémon fan club and keep entering and exiting until Pikachu will notice the Clefairy by the table. Pikachu runs over to it and if you check you pokémon screen now, Pikachu's picture will not be there. If you now go to Pikachu and talk to it, it will have hearts around its face. If you exit the building, Pikachu will start following you again, also when you talk to it.

Pikachu falls asleep

Go to the Pokémon center in Pewter city. Talk to the Jigglypuff. It will start singing and Pikachu will fall asleep. I will wake up if you talk to it or exit the building. It looks very cute when you wake it up.:-)

Pikachu dances

If you jump from a ledge but don't go any farther so Pikachu's on the other side of the ledge, Pikachu will soon start to dance. It will also turn around and walk in place. Also, if you start walking straight down while Pikachu is dancing, it sould slide in place behind you, but it becomes like normal when you stop or turn in another direction.

Pikachu with a bucket on its head

Fish with a Rod and talk to Pikachu. It will have a bucket on its head.

Pikachu zaps you

When Pikachu has just reached level 26 or 41 and learned Thunderbolt or Tunnder, talk to it. It will try out its new electric attack on you...

Go to Cycling road without a Bicyle

Go to the gatehouse to cycling road without a Bicycle. Then hold down left and keep pressing B rapidly. In a few seconds, you should be on the other side. Note: First, the guard will say something, but as you skip the text, you will at one point step forward past the guard.

Never lose any coins in the Game corner

Do the following to never lose any coins at the Game corner:

  1. Check if you have coins. If you have, go on to step 3. If not, do step 2.
  2. Buy 50 coins at the counter.
  3. Remember how many coins you have now! If you forget this number, all this will be for nothing!
  4. Save your game.
  5. Start playing the slots with three coins. Use any slot machine you like, but always remember the number of coins you had in the beginning!
  6. Watch the number of coins you have, but be sure to remember the number you had at the start.
  7. When your number of coins reaches any higher than the number you had in the beginning, remember how many coins you have now instead of the old number and save again.
  8. If you ever run out of coins, turn off your Gameboy and turn it back on, and you will be back with the highest number of coins you had through the whole progress!
  9. If you get bored of playing the slots, also just turn off without saving. Also, it might be good to turn off when you're more than 700 coins under the number you remembered, as not even two jackpots in a row would get you higher.
  10. Do this until you have enough coins for the pokémon or TM you want.

Beat Brock

Try catching a Caterpie in Viridian forest and raise it until it's a Butterfree with Confusion, and then use it to beat him. Also, if you caught a Pidgey or were so lucky to catch the level nine Pidgeotto in Viridian forest, you can use its Sand-attack to lower Geodude's and Onix's accuracy before starting to attack. When using Pikachu, have it over level 15 and make it use Double team six times, then use Quick attack. If you run out of Power points for Quick attack, just make all your power points run out, then use Struggle to take the last Hit points.

Beat Misty

Misty is VERY easy in Yellow. Just use Pikachu. If you've been single-training your Pikachu, you can also get Bulbasaur.

Beat Lt. Surge

Catch a Diglett in Diglett's cave and teach it Dig. If you've got your Charmander, it is good to use it and teach it Dig. If you have Bulbasaur, it's also strong when battling Lt. Surge and his Raichu.

Beat Erika

If you've got your Charmander, you should beat her easily, but it's maybe better to use a Fearow/Pidgeotto with Fly.

Beat Sabrina

She's tough. Maybe use a Tauros from the Safari zone and teach it Strength, or some other pokémon with Strength. If you've got a Bug pokémon with Leech life, use it. Use physical attacks on her, or use a Psychic of your own.

Beat Koga

Use a Psychic pokémon or a pokémon with Dig.

Beat Blaine

Blaine uses Fire pokémon, so Squirtle's a good choice. Use it now. Any pokémon with Surf will do as a support. Anyway, use Water attacks, Rock attacks, or Dig.

Beat Giovanni

Giovanni uses Ground pokémon, so use a Water, Grass, Ice or Flying pokémon here, all will work well.

Beat Lorelei

Do not use a Fire pokémon!!! She claims to be an Ice trainer, but she's more like a Water trainer. Her Lapras is very hard to beat, but use Pikachu against her. A fire pokémon is good against Jynx, though.

Beat Bruno

Starmie, Jynx or Exeggutor. All three are Psychics so they can beat his Hitmons and Machamp, and all three are Water, Grass or Ice, the types that are double-super effective on Onix.

Beat Agatha

She says she's a Ghost trainer, but she is a Poison trainer. Those Elite four members can't decide what type they train... Use a Psychic, Ground or Bug pokémon for this, or pokémon with Psychic or Dig. Use your Pikachu on Golbat, though.

Beat Lance

Ahhh, Lance, the Gamesharker. No, really, in Gold, Silver and Crystal he has de-leveled his Dragonite and evolved AND de-leveled the Dragonairs, and he even taught Aerodactyl Rock slide. Well, do NOT use Dragon attacks on him. The only Dragon attack in Red, Blue and Yellow is Dragon rage, which just always hurts by 40 Hit points, no matter what is weak to what. Instead, use an Ice pokémon. It will beat all of his pokémon except Gyarados, but it is VERY easily beaten by your Pikachu. A good team for the Elite four would be Pikachu, Jynx, Jolteon, Blastoise, Venusaur and Charizard.

What to do during the credits

Try to recognize all the pokémon silhouettes that push the text. It's harder than you think. I do it every time, still I have no clue what some of them are.

Catch Mew

Here's what you need to do to catch Mew on R/B/Y. I SWEAR that this works. I tried it myself. And a lot of other people too. The bad thing is, you probably need to restart your game to do it. Here's what you have to do:

  1. Don't battle the youngster with a Slowpoke on the way to Bill's house or the Gambler who stands near the passage to Celadon from Lavender.
  2. Get Fly.
  3. Go through the underground passage from Celadon to Lavender. When you stand in front of the enterance, stop and save.
  4. Walk one step forward, ready to press Start.
  5. Press Start immediately after you step down. If done correctly, the Gambler doesn't notice you before you get the Start menu up.
  6. Go to "pokémon".
  7. Fly to Cerulean city.
  8. Your Start button isn't working now. Walk up Nugget bridge and find the Youngster with the Slowpoke. Go all the way up so he will have to walk up to you after he notices you, or the game will crash. Beat the Slowpoke.
  9. Now, your Start button works. Press it and Fly to Lavender town.
  10. Go left to Route 8. The start menu will pop up by itself.
  11. Press B. DO NOT save. Press B right away. When the Start menu closes, you will be attacked by a wild pokémon. It's a level 7 Mew that only knows Pound.
  12. Catch it (duuuh!), stare at the pokédex entry for ages, then stare at its status screen for ages. Then jump around the house, yelling "I HAVE A NON-SHARKED, NON-NINTENDO MEW!!!"
  13. Save because you want your Mew to be there the next time you play.

Train pokémon with accuracy-lowering or evasion-boosting attacks or Dig/Fly

Fight wild Geodudes and Gravelers that know Selfdestruct or Explosion. Use your accuracy-lowering attack/evasion-boosting attack/Fly/Dig, and hope they Selfdestruct and miss you. It gives loads of experience.
