Evolution List

If looking for a specific Pokémon's evolution method, press Ctrl+F (or Cmd-F on a Mac) and enter the Pokémon's name to search for it on the page. Note that evolutions for regional variants (Alolan/Galarian forms) of Pokémon are listed separately, as some of them have different evolutions or evolution requirements than their original forms; thus, if wondering how to evolve a Galarian Meowth, you should search for Galarian Meowth rather than just Meowth.

Evolutions are split into three main types: level-up evolutions, which happen when a Pokémon has just gained a level and can be canceled if the player so desires by pressing B during the evolution; player-induced evolutions, which require the player to specifically do something to this Pokémon to evolve it immediately, which cannot be canceled; and special evolutions, introduced in Sword and Shield, triggered by other actions. This page lists all level-up evolutions first, then all player-induced evolutions, and then special evolutions.

If an evolution in the list has something in parentheses after it, that means that the method will only evolve the Pokémon if the condition in the parentheses is also met.

Ash

Can't you order them by family and Pokédex order? Like Bulbasaur Ivysaur Venusaur, then Charmander Charmeleon Charizard, then Squirtle Wartortle Blastoise, then Caterpie Metapod BUTTERFREE, then Weedle Kakuna Beedrill, then Pidgey Pidgeotto Pidgeot, then Kantonian Rattata Kantonian Raticate, then Alolan Rattata Alolan Raticate, then Spearow Fearow, then Ekans Arbok, then Pichu Pikachu Kantonian Raichu Alolan Raichu, etc.

Ash

Or just make it an alternative order?

@Ash: Part of the reason I made this page was I was curious about which Pokémon evolved at which level, which wasn't information that was found anywhere else with that presentation. There are lots of sites where you can look up how a particular Pokémon evolves - though this one is also usable for that - but not a lot where you can see how many Pokémon evolve at a given level or by a certain method. Ordering it by National Pokédex would just lose that aspect - as well as not actually making it that much easier to find the Pokémon you want for most people!
