The Favorite Lechonk picker literally could not have ruined your progress, because all it did was show every Pokémon's sprite as Lechonk. It did not modify your state in any way; it did not even modify which Pokémon was underlying each of them (you could hover over a given Lechonk to see the name of which Pokémon it actually was).

Are you saying you panicked and reset your picker state because it was showing all Lechonk? I'm sorry if so, but all you would have had to do to keep your state as it was was to not do that. If there were another Favorite Pokémon Picker-based joke in the future, similarly, all you would have to do is not reset your state.

If keeping your picker state is important to you, though, you can also backup your picker state at any time using the "Import/export state" feature located near the bottom left. Click that link, then copy the contents of the text box and save it in a file on your computer. Whenever you finish a session, copy the contents of the textbox and overwrite the contents of your file with it. That way, if you were to for some reason lose your browser's local storage, switch browers, or otherwise want to continue on another computer, all you would have to do is take the contents of that file, paste it into the import/export box, and then click the "Import state" button.

I know it's not related but it's something important so April fools is coming up and I pray to arceus. that whatever you do for April fools when 2nd April hits bring everything back to normal I am currently 60% there to reach my fav and start ranking 1 by 1 and I have 464 left out of 1161 and yes I included megas regional forms and gigantamax too I started a week ago and it started out rough because my brain can't work normally but everything got easier. and back in 2023 when i did this your favourite lechonk picker ruined everything. and I lost all my progress. so this year when April 2nd hits bring everything back to normal plz and I want my progress back.

Thanks for the tips, but this sounds like it was written by someone who's had terrible experiences with Crystal's Battle Tower. With your help amongst other things, I managed to put together a Level 10 Team and also a Level 100 Team that destroy everything.

Maybe a bit unrelated, but this reminds me of a story of an easter egg in Etrian Odyssey Nexus, a secret item and skills that were disguised in the code as an unused, incomplete class.

The methods of obtaining it are very likely inspired by the rumors of old, with requirements like seeing the credits, having 100+ hours of play time, and scanning 100 QR codes of other people's party members. The steps you need to follow afterwards are similarly finicky, with speaking to a specific NPC and then going to a very precise location.

The discovery went quite similarly to that of the Mew Trick, with a GameFAQs poster swearing that it worked but being disbelieved. Dataminers had found the portraits and skills for the Vampire class, but the incomplete data made it seem like just a scrapped idea.
Eventually, enough people managed to make it work that the method became documented, the requirements became widespread, and despite the game releasing in Japan years before the west, this secret was discovered by a few determined people who initially attempted to debunk yet another rumor. All smack in the middle of the age of datamining.

I just wanted to share this story because I figured anyone reading this article might find it interesting. Stuff like the Mew Trick doesn't happen often any more, but it definitely still does

Honestly I feel like the catch rates of 3 should be reserved for Mythicals and Mewtwo-tier legendaries like Ho-oh and Lugia, the the minor legendaries like Suicune and Zapdos could probably still have a low catch rate, just not as low as 3.
