04/13/10: Voltorb Flip Examples

I've added a couple of sample games to the Voltorb Flip guide I put up yesterday, just to demonstrate how the rules are applied in a real situation and give a better idea of how it all comes together.

I wish I had found this 35+ days ago instead of now; I had to slowly work all these rules out for myself when playing Voltorb Flip. Interestingly, my observations mirrored yours exactly, so the entire thing felt rather oddly familiar while I was reading it.

Nice job with this guide.

Judging from your example, you should pick one at random from the 4/1 row, since only one of them is a Voltorb while two of the ones in the other row are Voltorb.

When you have a 'rectangle of doom' in Voltorb Flip (a 2 column by 3 row rectangle of usable cells, where one column has two out of three options)(something like This]http://www.mypicx.com/04232010/rectangleDoom/]This, is it better to go to the more concentrated column, or the less concentrated one? It seems that they both have the same probability.

…um, what the hell? It's been a week. You can start suspecting I'm dead if I haven't updated or posted anywhere in a couple of months without any sort of a note of where I went, but a week? Really? When I last posted in this very guestbook today?

What if this was the last post Butterfree ever made? Great examples, though, if you're still alive…

I feel proud that I figured out most of this guide by myself already. :3

I gave my mom Voltorb Flip earlier today 'cause I thought she'd like it. After explaining the game to her and showing her a few basic strategies I left her to it; now she's addicted. xD
