Pokemon isn't supposed to be LOGICAL. Tis nice to escape from the real world into a world where female Pokemon can evolve into male (or is it the other way around?) and a husk of a Pokemon can be alive, and do stuff.

Maybe because it's a fast as lightning, so it could easily push off?
Meh. If your try to look at Pokemon logically sometimes, you get a headache.[25/11/2008 20:46:22]
Thanks. I'm pretty sure that Venusaur is a horned toad because of the implied texture of it's skin. Bulbasaur and Ivysaur are probably some kind of frogs with ears. All of them have been genetically mixed with plants. Kinda impossible when you think about it, but hey. Pokémon can be impossible!
(Zapdos's wings are too large. They would create too much wind resistance to fly as fast as pictured in Pokémon:the movie 2000. Also the heavy wings would pull Zapdos down at takeoff before they would provide lift.)

I personally found playing Leaf Green much easier than the original games on Game Boy, but that could be because I'm several years older and have a lot more experience with Pokemon games. The difficulty overall shouldn't be that different, I think.
I think Bulbasaur's pointed "ears" make him some kind of horned-toad.[24/11/2008 20:59:48]

All my friends say Firered was hard, but I'm the only one who didn't find it difficult! It was my first game that I completed, and I only trained one Pokemon: My Blastoise. It only took me 20 hours to beat Firered. On my Yellow, I only have 5 badges, and it's been 26 hours already.

Bulbasaur and his family are based off of generic reptiles spliced with plants.

I think they're toads…. All I know is that Venusaur's flower is a rafflesia, or something like that.

What are Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, and Venusaur based on? Dinosaurs just doesn't seem right…

RBY was way easier than FRLG. Like in the 8th gym I think Rhydon used Tail Whip in RB but in FRLG it used Earthquake. And that is only one example of it.

Yeah, but the thing is there's nowhere to train befor the Elite Four except where, Victory Road (level 43ish) and Three island (35ish).

why not simplify the shiny rate to 1/8192?

Website: The Cave of DragonfliesI wouldn't say R/B/Y were harder, even if the Pokémon were two levels higher; they had godawful/nonexistent AI, after all, with Agatha's Gengar sitting there wasting its time with Dream Eater when you aren't sleeping and so on.
I found Cynthia pretty challenging as far as champions go, but then again I'm always undertrained; I think my Pokémon were somewhere in the lower fifties when I beat her in Diamond, and in Platinum they were around or under level 50.[23/11/2008 18:05:05]

Firered is hard if you try to beat the Elite Four with Pokémon around level fifty. If not, it's easy.
Red and Blue were harder. Much harder,
What about Cynthia/Shirona? I found her to be a pushover, (I beat her with my strongest Pokémon twelve levels lower than her strongest.) but a lot of people say she's really strong and hard.
For that quiz, the shiny encounter rate is 2/16384.[23/11/2008 17:47:25]

i have leafgreen and I found it VERY hard. victory road=killer. i got through but didn't save, then lost to Lorelei and turned off my game without thinking. I just gave up after that.

You know that weird guy in Mauville that counts random things? Apparently by the time I got him I had saved 1347 times. Ten less and it would have been epic. :(
Am I the only one that found Firered hard?[23/11/2008 02:58:21]

I really like the plot in this one. Honestly, it has a waaay better script, and it is much longer than the first.
It gets repetitive afterwards. But, there are a few little things that involve absolutely having to go somewhere.
I just saved my Firered, and the numbers for my Pokédex were 13, and the time was 13:13. My favourite number three times. Uncanny, eh?[23/11/2008 02:45:22]

The only part(s) that are tedious are after you beat the game. Seriously, they could have added five more chapters to the end. Then it wouldn't take as long to be able to evolve.

in md2, you never have to reach a certain rank. the storyline is continous, sometimes there are times when you have to do a few "days" of just jobs, but only a few, then someone shows up/something happens to start a real mission.

Website: The Cave of DragonfliesWell, I love the concept and the plot seemed promising. I was just so, so disappointed when the gameplay killed it for me. :/ The main thing is that there are gaps where the plot will not continue until you reach some rank or some level or whatever, and there is absolutely no indication anywhere of exactly what rank or level this is; the game just leaves you there to aimlessly wander around doing random missions while hoping to reach whatever goal the game has set for you. If the plot of MD2 is completely ongoing, or at least there is some way to tell how many tedious missions you have left until something interesting happens, then I might give it a try.
