…haha, I got Scyther for the spam protection.



Well. When I was a young Pokémon fan who went to Mew's Hangout, there was a Gym contest on that site; I made up one with the theme of "natural weapons", Pokémon with particularly prominent and sharp fangs/claws/scythes, the leader having a team of Scyther, Kabutops, Sneasel, Sandslash, Feraligatr and Fangcat (one of my fake Pokémon). Then, when I was writing The Quest for the Legends, I ended up implementing this Gym idea into the story, and chapter eleven (the equivalent of the current chapter ten) revolved around this Gym leader kidnapping the main character and using his Scyther to threaten him. This led to a conversation between that Scyther and the main character, and while creating that conversation, I fell in love with that particular Scyther's personality, which caused me to make him into a permanent character who soon became my favorite. And Scyther ascended up my list of favorite Pokémon.



I also had one on my Gold version, but I didn't really like him more than I ordinarily begin to like Pokémon when I use them in my team. He was, however, what made me originally conclude that I liked Scyther more than Scizor.

About EV-training spots in Emerald (presumably also R/S)… More specifically, defense - I think the entrance to the Team Magma cave is an excellent spot, with Geodude, Torkoal, and maybe Graveler… You might want to verify, but I think that's right.

Argh, I've missed so much. How is everyone? I see that there's so many updates that have appeared while I was gone. I can't wait until my internet's fixed…



Can't wait until Platinum's out. From what I've read really quickly when I'm posting, it's really good. I share your excitement, Butterfree, about the chance to catch wild Scyther. It would be a nice change in Pokémon selection.



And I'm doing considerably well on my fan fics. Eventhough it doesn't seem like much, I've started a new book for my first fic, and I've written over fifty pages in my second. Yay.



So there's a small little update. Again, I'm sorry I've been so unactive. v_v
